Nike Will Enhance Size Selections for Plus Size Women

Plus sized women will now have a larger selection to choose from as its being reported Nike is expanding its apparel collection to cater to curvier women.

According to Refinery29 Nike will be offering a wider range of women selections from 1X to 3X with a maximum of 85 pieces for the holiday season in the categories of sportswear to training pieces. It is said that the number will expand to a higher number by spring 2017.

“Nike recognizes that women are stronger, bolder, and more outspoken than ever,” the brand said in a statement to Refinery29. “In today’s world, sport is no longer something that she does, it’s who she is. The days where we have to add ‘female’ before ‘athlete’ are over. She is an athlete, period. And having helped fuel this cultural shift, we celebrate these athletes’ diversity, from ethnicity to body shape.”

The plus-sized clothing is set to help performance for women of larger body frames when participating in activities such as squats, rotating, bending and more.  Pieces include designed leggings, long-sleeved T-shirts, hoodies and much more.
